Composting worms are an essential component of sustainable gardening. The worms efficiently process kitchen and garden waste into a fantastic amendment to keep nurturing your soil. Especially during the rain and sweats of summer, replenishing your Florida sand with accessible organic material is imperative. Worms digest seven times their weight on a weekly basis and create compost and tea. The compost is a perfect pH, rich in nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, and a myriad of micronutrients. Their digestive process adds valuable enzymes to their products. The odorless process is realitively simple and requires minimum care.
Learn hands-on how to start, maintain, and harvest a worm bin. Participants will receive worm castings, worm tea, and a handful of worms to start a bin.
When: Saturday, June 27th, 2009, 1:30pm-3pm
